Points represent the importance and dominance of teams, dogs, and people. The more points you have, the more respect you are earning. Therefore, a sled dog that has 47 pts is far more valuable than one with 3 pts. Catching my drift?
The most common way to earn points is to participate in a race. When a team race is performed, the team itself earns a certain amount of points to it's name (depending on what place they came in), each dog on the team an equal amount of points (depending on what place the team came in), and the musher earns a certain amount of points (depending on what place the team came in). Even if you're dead last, you always earn at least one point for participation.
Individual Races are focused around the dogs theirselves. Since it's only dogs running against eachother, points are distributed on which place they come in. These are individual points, so if the dog is part of the team, it isn't added to the team, only the individual dog's points. Like team races, every dog gets at least one point for participation.
Another way to earn points, for humans only, would be a Job. Depending on the job, maybe every week or so, or every 'patient', or whatever their job includes, they will earn a certain amount of points.
RULES ON GAINING POINTS
-YOU are responsible for keeping track of your own points. In your Points thread, you must post the total amount, and underneath that list everything you did to earn that amount, and how much points you got for each thing you did.
-Points cannot be traded, given, etc. What you have is yours.
