Racing is the primary focus in Icee Peaks (well, besides RPing!). Racing earns you points, fame, and gives your team something to do.
In order to team race, you must have a team. If you have a team, you can race! Individual races can include dogs that do not have a team, but must have an owner. Strays are not included.
- The teams must line up at the starting point. The musher must be present.
- When the gun is fired, all dogs and mushers must take off and try to make it to the first checkpoint. All dogs and the musher of the team must be at the checkpoint together before they move on to the next step!
- Once all dogs and the musher are present at the checkpoint (THE BLUE FLAG), one member of the team must post describing what occured with that specific character as the team raced to the checkpoint. This will show how much your character knows about his/her position. Mushers can post, too. Only one character per checkpoint needs to post. After the post is finished, the team may move on.
- The previous step is repeated for the other 3 checkpoints. A DIFFERENT CHARACTER MUST POST EVERY TIME!
- The first FULL team to cross the finnish line, this means every dog and the musher in the team has completely crossed the line, wins.
- There will be a judge at each checkpoint, and both the starting point and the finnish line.
- You may NOT pre-write your post, aka write the post before you reach the checkpoint. The reason for a judge is to make sure you don't. If you are suspected of this, the judge will ask you and your team to come back and repost.
- ALL POSTS MUST BE 5 LINES (NOT SENTENCES) LONG (at least). Otherwise, you will have to come back and redo.
What you're supposed to post about, is what your character in specific, not others, went through and felt and experianced on the way to that check point. Experiances should be different for each position. A Lead Dog will experiance different things than a Wheel Dog..
- Appoint who will be posting at which checkpoint BEFORE the race, to save time.
- Do some research on your position! Whether you're a musher, a wheel dog, the lead dog, whatever--it helps to know. Because what you're supposed to post about!
